Question Texmod:"S**t happens" D'Oh!

As the title of this topic says, I can't get Texmod to work. I'm on Vista Home Premium, tried using it without the Firewall, then without the virusscanner, then as Administrator, but it still doesn't work.

Help??

Kind regards,
Sabine

When I enter all the necessary things in the Texmod-program, and then press Run, that message as said in the topic title appears, and the program won't run.

right click it, go to properties -> compatibility and set it to run textmod in compatibility mode for windows xp sp2 and check the box next to "run this program as and administrator"

hope that helps!

The message being 'shit happens D'oh' ?I like that idea!! all programs that fail to work should have something like that!

try moving your Guild Wars folder out of Program Files, into C drive, and try again.

Did you disable that UAC or whatever-it-called Account Security.

I disabled that from the beginning and haven't had any issues running texmod/games.

I appreciate you guys trying to help me, but I don't think all that stuff is going to make this program work. There should be an easier solution to this

the easier solution is you properly identifying the symptoms so people here can actually help you. just telling us it won't work doesn't cut it. you need to tell us what you've tried, exactly what you're doing, and give us the full error. if you don't know how to describe the error, screenshots are a great help. you giving up so easily without really trying to fix it just means you really don't want to use texmod.

there's something obviously wrong on your end because the program works fine for pretty much everyone else. therefore the error must be 24 inches away from your monitor and approximately 48 inches off the ground.

delete it redownload it, redownload your .tpf files as well, the error message is just general so maybe its corrupt.

thank you.

@TS

Is your TexMod the newest version? Because over time as patches patch GWs, it causes TexMod to not properly associate with it. Well, for me that is. But uh, if not, reinstallin TexMod might work. If not, try reinstalling Guild Wars. And make sure that your tpf's aren't corrupted, cause' that screwed me up one time as well... so yah.

Try loading one mod at a time to find the one that is not working.

Might as well give this one a go.

Seeing as nothing is working.

For everyone asking for a "specific error" on texmod the only error you recieve is "D'oh! Shit Happens!"
