Question Bad connection issues (100K ping) Any ideas?

Hello all, I was hoping someone here could give me some advice on trying to clear this up. For over a week now I have been unable to do anything in game, my pings range from 6K-110K, and eventually disconnecting. The rest of my web (browsing, downloading) have been running great and the computer in the other room can run guild wars no isses. I have reinstalled the game, did a full system restore, virus/spyware check, changed ethernet cables, ect. Anet has been more than helpful on this situaion but so far nothing.

I have done pingplotter and ran belarc advisor for them, uninstalled AVG and Spybot thinking this might have the issue, SP2 for vista is also installed. My computer is connected to the router through ethernet and the second one is on wireless (though I have also tried a direct line and bypassing the router). I can play any other higher end games with no issues and no web issues. Does anyone have any advice thay could give on fixing this situation?

Thank you all for your help and advice, if there is any info you need from me I am more than happy to share.

That's rather odd. Check your router, do you have port forwarding set up on it? Also, could your firewall be acting up? Try disabling that.

I would say it has something to do with your ports, but you said that you can run other high end games. Either way you should go with Killamus' idea.

honestly i think it's something from anet's end because i had a little bit of time so i ab'd and people(including me) were disconnecting left and right. the first match i played in i had about 45k ping which for me is just absolutely the worst i've had in ages. by far.

Same lag and ping issues have been mentioned in this thread several times, including reports from Anet support claiming its not them, its you, as you are not alone in your ping issues, its clearly an issue over at Anet.

Thanks all for the advice. I do not have any port forwarding set up, I disabled the firewall and I bypassed the router, all with no luck. today they had me try -noshaders -nosound -dx8.. this just made my frames jump up to 150 FPS. I'll give that virus scanner a try.

Thank you all again
