Default Graphics card dead?

Hi
i just got a card from ebay and i think its dead,it was sold as 100% working and i can return it,it will start up all messed up and as soon as the welcome screen ends i lose the signal,i put back my old 6600gt and there are no proplems with my screen
So is it dead?

I've had this happen before to me, yeah it's dead. Make sure you have the card and cables well plugged though, but you might as well return it.

best try to get your money back on that one, the older GPU working fine verifies what the screenshots indicated.... it's a cadaver.

Um, what kind of card is it? Did you install the proper updated drivers?
Is it an ATI based card and you are trying to use it with nVidia (6600gt) drivers?

i unistalled the nvidia drivers,used driver sweeper to check for nvidia crap,then installed the ati drivers from the cd that came with it,did'nt work then uninstalled the ati drivers and tried omega ati drivers,still didnt work so i uninstalled the omega drivers used driver sweeper again to get rid of all ati drivers,then went bk to my old card with no proplems,playing gw now with 20-60 fps

In that case, the card may indeed be toast. It looks like a RAM problem (the RAM on the card, not your main RAM). There is a small possibility that it may be a bad contact in the card socket, but it's doubtful.
