Default Game Freezing Problem - Pls Help

Hey all,

I have bought a new router few weeks ago, and since than i have a huge problem with Guild Wars. In every hour once my game freeze. Everything stop moving in the game, including me. I can only turn around, change the look, i can even click on skills and options etc...

After 40-50 second of standing still i get a message from the game, that i lost connection and it asks me if i would like to reconnect or not. I can join back everytime to the game but i have regurarly played RA and TA and i think i dont need to mention what happens in Ra if you are not there for a minute or so. Closing the game and log in again solve the problem immediately but than i placed back to a town.

I have checked my internet during this freeze and it was working well. I minimized the game while the problem occured and net went very well.

I have given GW as an exception in my windows security and in my virus scanner so i am pretty much confused what else can i do.

Anyone can help me?

It happaned to me during halloween last year, kinda solved itself after the firs few days.
Try restarting your router after it happens (turn off then turn it back on after say, 5 mins),other then that, try to contact your provider :P
Good luck

Is the router wireless? Are you connected to it wirelessly? Iirc some people have had this sort of problem because the router "searches for a wireless connection" at regular intervals (even with a wired connection). There is a setting in the router to disable the search, if that is the problem.

Other than that it may be a driver conflict that just coincidently happened at the time of the router change. Update your video and audio drivers.

Wireless can also be a pain to play on because if theres any interference in the air, packets will be lost and your connection will drop. I used to play on wireless then when I just plugged in to the router with a cable directly it has been much better, because there are pockets of interference when I live for some reason. Garage doors open by themselves and other wireless stuff goes nuts every once in a while.
