does this happen when playing any other games? it sounds like your video card is dying, but it may be a corrupted gw.dat file or messed up drivers...

Are you using integrated graphics? Please tell us your video card. To find your video card, follow the following steps:

1. Go to Run
2. Type "dxdiag"
3. Go to Display
4. Your video card will be listed as "Name"

looks like you have a corrupted gw.dat file. delete it, and run GW with the -image tag. leave it overnight to finish.

Moriz hit it before me, it's a corrupt DAT, fixing it will get you back on track.

you can add the following command to the end of your desktop Guild Wars shortcut....

right click on it and select Properties - where it says Target add the following to what is already there: "-image" without the quotes.

This will download all the data for areas that you have previously played, making your load times much much shorter. Leave that running overnight and make sure to remove the "-image" from the end of the Target under Properties before playing again.
