Default Need Texmod help

Texmod works fine during and after launch, but when I go to close GW the screen goes entirely black. Ctrl alt del, alt tabbing, esc, nothing works. The only way to make the display normal again is to restart the computer, but needless to say this is a bit annoying and also a little harmful to the computer. Can anyone explain or fix this error?

System:

Windows 7
DX 11
GTX 275 SLI
i7 920
6GB RAM

Edit: Sorry I forgot I posted a similar topic a couple days ago, mods delete the older one if you want.

Direct X 11. I'm pretty sure Texmod is a solid DX9 application. You see, Texmod actually replaces textures (temporary) in the Direct X layer, not the game files of the game you are modding. So I'm most certainly sure that the problem here is DX11. We can only pray for an update to Texmod someday, but that seems quite unlikely as we have been using the same version for years (and it wasn't even designed for GW!) and the project seems dead...

can you start up GW and Texmod in a XP compatible mode? That uses DX9 or DX10?

I didn't think about the compatibility mode thing. Good call.

Tried compatibility mode already, didn't work
Also DX11 shouldn't be the problem since it's backwards compatible.

I'm going to go see if the problem still happens in windows mode (which will mess up my UI unfortunately).

Yeah so the problem doesn't manifest in windowed mode. Guess I'll be doing that from now on. Or at least until I get grandmaster cartographer.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit with a GTX275 (non-SLI) and GW+texmod is working perfectly fine. I am using the most recent Geforce driver downloaded from Nvidia (191.07), not the default one that was installed with Windows 7.

I copied Guild Wars from my old machine to the second partition in d:\program files\guild wars, i.e. not into the regular (windows-secured) c:\program files(x86)\... folder, where the tighter security might interfere with the streaming and internal updating of gw.dat and gw.exe.
