I have the same thing in JQ. Loading screen freezes....error code=005
Nice update Anet.
Update Notes: "fixed a bug that prevented server crashes."

Cant get to Guild Hall either. Same thing happens.

I'm in the American districts by the way.

Looks like Chineese hackers are taking revenge on Anet for trying to prevent them from stealing accounts. lulz.

I had the exact same problem this afternoon. Was playing Fort Aspenwood, lost connection to the server (think that might be the 2nd or 3rd time that has happened to me in nearly 4 years of playing). I was able to reconnect and get back to the match but after another 20 seconds or so it happened again and I was booted with an error 005.

I loaded GW up again and was able to move freely from outpost to outpost but as when trying to enter another match in FA the game would just lock up while the loading screen was at 0% and if I waited long enough the 005 error would come up again. I was on the American districts. Tried switching to something else and was able to do some raptor farming without any problems at all.

Others in FA were having the exact same problems. I emailed support and sent them my performance log/diagnostic. After a couple hours they replied that my problem was that my video card drivers were not up to date. I'm guessing that's just their initial response if they see something like that. Really don't see how a vid card driver could cause one area to not load at all but other areas to work perfectly fine.

Now that I think of it the only times I ever get noticeable lag spikes of any kind is when I'm playing Factions.....wierd.

Anyhoo things seem to be working fine now when I logged in for a bit about an hour ago.

I can login but when I go to an outpost, the game immediately crashes. This problem only happened after the update. I could play just fine yesterday.

FIXED: A mod called Flashmod was interfering. I will contact the vendor of Flashmod.

Very odd. I have not had any issues connecting to anything on GW. I zone into missions/towns/dungeons/ect just fine.

Hopefully it clears up for you...

I had this happen on one account while the other logged in perfectly. I was in Kam. and I got a network server error. On relog it froze at 0. After resetting my router, changing configurations (suggested by the tech faq), tweaking firewall settings and ultimately deleting the entire game and re-downloading it I finally got in.

Now to read it was on Anet's end is irritating. I jumped through a ton of hoops to get back in just to read now that it was not on my end.

Whatever.. no good in complaining I guess lol.

(EDIT)

Thanks for the info, EliteWarlord.

I submitted a ticket to the GW support team and got the following reply. They ask you to run a GW game advisor app to generate a crash report. I thought people might find this useful if they continue to get the problem lets give GW support the reports they need to fix the problem.

Here is there email:

Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Technical Support.

In order for us to better assist you with this issue, we would like you to run our Game Advisor application. The Game Advisor will provide us with helpful information about your system and Internet connection.

We ask that if you are using a router, hub, or switch, to first disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection.

To run Game Advisor, please perform the following steps:

1. To download the Game Advisor, go here: http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor

2. When prompted, save the file to your desktop so that you can access it easily.

3. Double click on the Game Advisor file and then click on the icon of the game you're experiencing an issue with.

4. Click on the "Test Computer and Connection" button and please wait a few minutes while the process completes.

5. Once the process completes, a "Test Result" window will come up. This window will provide you with a link to update your ticket as well as tell you where the diagnostic report is saved. You can also view the report file.

Please update your ticket with this file. If you need assistance attaching a report to the ticket please follow the instructions in the following Knowledge Base article:

Title: Attaching a File
Answer Link: http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...p?p_faqid=5887

Once we receive it, we'll have a better idea of how to resolve your issue.

Regards,
Robert
