Default Stuck at connecting to Arenanet

this is not good ive never had this problem before. When i click in my shortcut to launch guild wars it is stuck at the Connecting to Arenanet. It wont do anything at all and ive had it up for over 30 mins now. Thought it might be my computer so i tried my sisters and same thing It will Not Load. Can someone with a little bit more know how help me please.
Thanks
Siadina

Edit: ok ive sent a message to support and ive called my internet service provider. Ive also reset my modem and my router. I am having no other problems connecting to any other thing online and i just logged in this morning. Is anyone else having this problem?

No I am not having this problem. A lot of people report this when festivals arrive.

Yeah Im getting a similar thing, I went on the launch shortcut and it said: "Connecting to Arenanet" and says: "Downloading 0kb (at 0kb/sec)" But after about 5 minutes it did launch me...
But the same as yesterday, I've been having problems logging in when I enter my details it says "connecting..." and after a minute or two it'll take me onto the character select screen, if I select a character it will go onto the area load screen, but after a few more minutes, I'll get Error=007 or something similar, yesterday, after a while and coming back and trying again, it did connect me.

Busy servers no doubt, but that's because holiday events are popular (with good reason!)

EDIT: After persistence it does let me play, but it's still awkward when I go to a different outpost, etc.

having the same problem.. don't get it, I have a 0 ping on Guild Wars, and all websites load fine.

EDIT: I also have gwx2 I tried the 2nd client and it still stays on connect forever, I don't have a firewall up, no Anti-virus, and it still won't let me connect. I connected an hour ago before I knew the problem, but now I cannot connect and I have no idea why.

ok this is what happened. My linkesys router went down with a bang. I could still connect to the internet, but not guildwars. I did a port check and my router had shut off all ports but the basic internet one. Went and bought a Belkin wireless router and now im connection just fine. Thanks for all the helps guys *grin*
