I've had some bad luck with nvidia cards since the 6800GT and will probably grab a radeon 4850 next for around $150ish and get aftermarket cooling. That card should have less issues with vista, but who knows. Right now it's the best bang for the buck card out... especially with all the sales going.
The g80 and g92 series of cards were excellent. The G200 is a work of art, but is expensive.

Performance for price, the new ATi cards are a steal. However, AMD chipsets make them function best. Meaning... you need an AMD CPU. Rut roe....
