Unhappy Video Card Problems

Okay, First of all my video card IS on-board, I am buying an actual dedicated one later on this week, but I am curious as to why I cannot do two certain missions..

-The first problem occured when I tried to do the Warband Of Brothers mission in eotn
-The second being an asura quest.. sadly cant remember which one ><

Now seeing as Im a computer tech, I have checked ALL my hardware it is all functioning properly and im curious as to why this is happening

(Note) Guild Wars Does function properly its just these two aspects.
(Note) I do not know my motherboard model, as i am at work, will edit with model no.

Tyvm, Twisted.

well, what is your integrated graphics chip? If it's anything Intel (esp. GMA950 era or older) then I'm not at all surprised. Many areas in EOTN and a few in NF as well crash regularly with INtel graphics.

If you would tell us what your graphics card is (the model) and what exactly happens when the problem occurs it would help greatly to diagnos the problem.

GMA950 can handle any area of GW. GMA915 and earlier cannot.

curiously, the newer GMA3100 also cannot handle those areas. this is because GW defaults to dx8.1 instead of dx9 for some bizarre reason. the only way to fix it, is by downloading and installing a program called 3danalyzer. you can find a guide to how to do this on these forums. it's a sticky posted by yours truly, so it should be easy to find
