Default Internet.

Hey guys!

Now I am using ADSL modem( ZTE ZXDSL 831) through separate phone line. One of my friends changed his ISP. They offer inet through USB device(E156G ).
He doesnt need phone line or other additional stuff. As He There is also permanent green ping which suprised me alot. Usually i have yellow all the time. Sometimes I lag and dc alot.

New ISP offers 7.2 mbs for 1st GB then 256 (08:00-01:00) and 512 kb/s(01:00-08:00).

Does anyone using service like this? How does it affect ping and speed? Help would be appreciated.

By the way will it remove lag in vent? Our allies vent server's quality is 10. I cant talk. Ppl hear lots of cut outs and whipers lol. They have set to 5 and thanks God! I can talk, but still have little lags. Well, its obvious I cant ask everyone to reduce qlty on server. Will new connection reduce it?

Thx in advance

I wouldn't want to downgrade my connection that much, personally.

The quality of a vent server is set by the server, not the connection. Many rented Vent servers default to a high quality (it sounds good when they demo it) but, unfortunately, the required bandwidth can strain some peple's connection. The owner/renter of the server can have the quality setting lowered. From experience, I can tell you that there are lower quality settings that don't affect voice quality very much but use much less bandwidth.

What's the name of your current ISP and what's the name of the other one that you are considering?

7.2mbps is pretty good, but anytime you go over 1GB in data useage (which isn't hard to do) the drop in speed is terrible. I've had speeds like that before and I'll testify that it is very noticeable and should be avoided at all costs.
