Is it possible to set up a Headset and Mic for GW without using Ventrillo?

Guild Wars does not have built in voice capabilities, so unfortunately no you cannot do that.

You have to use third party methods of using voice if you wish to, the main thing people use is Vent and Team Speak, so you'll have to stick with that.

the best thing to do is to join an active guild that looks to help new players learn the game and uses either Ventrilo or TeamSpeak, make some friends that way and you're all set.

That "June" and "2009" should tell you that the thread is void.

Also, XFire is terrible when it comes to VoIP. Just use Ventrillo or Teamspeak. And don't necrothread.
