Head down to your nearest Barnes and Noble and pick up a book entitled "Building a PC for Dummies", it will help you from making the same mistake a second time. It will explain everything you don't seem to understand about computers. When I was in college studying for my A+ certification I recommended the book to another student who didn't know anything about computers either and he came back after a weekend and ended up building his own machine from scratch. I highly recommend it, it's a great book that outlines each piece of hardware and how it works. Good Luck!
