Default No way to adjust camera sensitivity?

Hey all. I'm new to Guild Wars, just bought it last night to give it a shot finally.

One glaring issue I have with the game has to do with the camera control. In other PC games, MMO and non-MMO alike, I am used to the camera moving at a rate that is constant with the mouse pointer, but in Guild Wars the camera seems horribly slow.

What I mean is, if I drag my mouse left to right I can get the pointer from the left of the screen to the right of the screen in one pass no problem. This is true for both Windows and Guild Wars.

The problem arises when I hold the right mouse button to pan the camera. When I do this the rate at which the camera pans around is far too slow. The expected behavior is that the point of view of the camera has a 1:1 movement ratio with the actual mouse pointer.

If that's confusing, think of it this way: As established earlier I can move the mouse pointer left to right in one pass no problem, both in Windows and Guild Wars. **But** if the mouse pointer were to move as slowly as the camera pans when holding the right mouse button then I'd probably need to make 4-5 passes from left to right to move the pointer to move the same distance.

Why is this? I haven't had such behavior in any other game, or if I do there was a clear option to increase the camera sensitivity or mouselook sensitivity. Since using the mouse is my main form of both movement and looking around me as I explore my environment I need both the pointer and camera to have equal sensitivities. This also rules out raising the sensitivity of the mouse in Windows because as stated before the sensitivity in Windows and in-game is fine for the pointer. It's the camera that drags.

For the record, it's not my FPS that is a problem here so please don't take this topic in that direction (and thus potentially derail the post :P). I maintain a constant 60fps and the game runs extremely smooth. Adjusting graphical settings had no impact on framerate or the sensitivity of the camera look (ie. this is an issue with the camera's sensitivity, not the framerate).

Thanks for any help you can provide!

camera rotation IS slow, and there isn't much you can do about it. however, if you have a good enough computer, turning off Vsync and letting your FPS run into the hundreds will greatly reduce the "laggy" feel of camera rotation. it will still seem to turn slower than you'd expect, but it won't have the acceleration-deceleration effect anymore.

I'll give the vysnc thing a try and see how that does. Over time I may get more used to it, just having it so slow compared to other games I've played like WoW and Dragon Age could make it take a while. Not having a subscription fee gives me the leisure to settle into the game without feeling pressured to play it though, so that should help. I also used to play FFXI and that didn't even have camera look via mouse (not in a usable fashion anyway), so it can't be entirely impossible to adjust to :P

yea the camera is slow compared to other games ive played but its doable, its one of the lil things u hate at first, but the longer you go the more you find you dont need to move the camera.
trust me it gets easier over time( due to the epifany that you dont need to move the camera very often). so hf and welcome to guild wars.

ps if u need a guild send me a pm here.. im and officer in kiss and can hook you up w/ a great allaince

I don't find the camera to be slow on my system. I've played WoW too, and never noticed any difference in camera rotation speed. (I also use the mouse to steer and move forward).
The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe you have some other software running in the background, like MSN, or a mouse config program, or whatever, that is also detecting the right mouse button and trying to perform some action.

At this time, I can move my pointer across the screen with just a twist of the wrist. With the same amount of movement I can turn the camera 180 degrees.
