Default Voice Output Issue

As per title. I did about 3 searches and gave up so I am creating this thread.

Well... Ever since I got this computer last year my voice output has always been sketchy. People always say my voice cuts in and out and I want to find a fix for it ASAP. I've looked around all over the web for the newest drivers for my sh!tty SoundMAX "High Definition" audio but it continuously says I have the latest yet the Driver Scanner (it's a free version with only scanning capabilties so I can't select "update" from there since it's not the "pro/paid" version) I used says I do not.

I know it's not my internet, I have had 2 different ISPs in the last year and my voice has always cut in and out. I know it's also not my headset because I've gone through at least 5 by now (lol). I've uninstalled my sound drivers and reinstalled from my MoBo disk but that still dioesn't fix it. I use Skype a lot as well as Ventrilo and the problem is persistent for both (but more so more of an issue for Skype since Skype is constant voice output)

If anyone needs any additional info please let me know.

Thanks.

edit: As I think about it, does anyone have any recommendations for a free Driver Updater that is not scan-only? That could possibly work. I've Googled it but everything is either a "crack", a "seriel key" or a "pay for me!" type of program (I don't trust random cracked programs no one can vouch for or seriel keys. That and I am too cheap to pay for a program I can otherwise get for free. ).

I've been going to the manufacturer website for my sound driver's for a while now but it never updates. The program says there is an update available but I can't download it since it's only the free version of the program.

Huh!? Can't you simply download the update and run it yourself - never mind using some software to do it for you.

That is, go to the manufacturers website, find the driver download page, down load the latest drivers, find them on your computer, and run them.

It's the "find them on your computer" part that messes up some people. When you download stuff through your browser, you should either choose where they are downloaded to at the time, or find out/know where the browser automatically puts things.
If you are using Firefox, you can simply go to "Tools", then "Downloads" for a list of files you have download (if they have downloaded into Firefox's default location.)

And, btw, a recommendation for a free updater - Windows Update. The drivers that WU may find might not be the latest, but you can be 99% sure they will at least work together. (I realize, of course, that some people may not want to use WU for validation reasons.)

I've already done every single bit of what you've said even before you posted this (WU did not give me any hits as expected). I don't know what to say... I have used another Driver Updater program as well and it also says my sound driver is out of date. :\

edit: A small sidenote, I am postitive it is not a problem with my hardware being faulty. But, here's the story: my MoBo died on me after a month of having the PC (it was promptly replaced under the warranty) but strangely even with the MoBo that died it also had the same voice cutting in and out problem). If it's just a general known issue with the MoBo that someone knows about then by all means please share it with me. The MoBo I have is an ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe.
