Hey all,
a friend of mine is having problems logging in and zoning between areas since the last update.
no changes at all on her end at all. it started immediately after closing out to get the latest update that was pushed last night & has been happening ever since.

anyone having the same problems or any ideas what it could be?

Same problem, internet works fine, vent works fine, GW keeps getting stuck on "Connecting" when trying to log in :P

Same. Just had it 10 seconds ago...
It gave an error after 30 secs or so. I retried to login and it worked :/

Yep same problem, I only see the login part, not the event part.

well, those are not exactly the same problem.
this give no error, just takes 10-30 seconds to actually zone into anywhere & then from there its fine.

just started with the last update as i said

exact same thing for me

gw's was running fine for me this morning till i came home and noticed the weekend event wasnt showing and logging in gives me the error code=058 so im hoping they fix this soon!

I'm experiencing a 058 error, it is not possible to connect to any server.
Internet works fine, browsing, checking email with a client, using skype and msn... it's only gw to not work.

Since the error message says it is probably about a routing issue, I've tried to change my DNS, but didn't help.

Well, I've found the solution here.

I use NOD32 as antivirus, by changing IMON settings to not scan port 80 gw is back to work.
It probably happen because after an update the new traffic on that port made by gw looks dangerous to NOD32.
Many other things use port 80 and not scan it could be really dangerous, I hope in a new update to fix this issue and can come back to activate port 80 scan.

If u have an antivirus or something like that which scan port 80, turn off that scan.
To me it was not enough to close NOD, there's something that stays on anyway.

For people using nod and having problems logging in, here is the trick.

Go to the advanced options in NOD32 and add an exlusion to GW.exe (note that you should locate the one in the installation folder)

Common location:
C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\GW.exe

Added GW as an allowed program on both AVIRA AntiVirus and the Windows Firewall.
Didn't work.

Turned off both AVIRA AntiVirus and the Windows Firewall.
Didn't work.

Still can't log in.

I'm having the same problem, and when i finally connect its a terrible connection, 007's, 032's, when i scrolled into FoW to get my obsi armor It dc'ed me! Alot of my alliance who are from all around the world are complaining of lag and DC's aswell so its not just me.

I don't know whats up but it would be awesome if it could be fixed! Please and thankyou

P.S. Wouldn't it be nice this lag was caused by the live team adding some thing to the game like something for the 5th aniversary! :P
