Default Strange problem

Well, I'm no stranger to having logging in problems with GW. Usually it just goes away, or has some sign of working. This is slightly stranger.

Yesterday I was stood around in game while i went to eat, came back and had been 007ed. I was unable to log back in. I returned to the main menu to see no news. This is usually a sign somethings up, but usually fixes itself quite quickly. Upon closing and re-opening the client, it managed to connect to Anet, but significantly slower than usual. Anyway, that was just shy of 24 hours ago now, and still I have no news, and im still unable to login.
Whats even stranger I find, is that im not just unable to log in to GW, i am also unable to get onto the official GW wiki, and even the GW site. I get the old "The connection has timed out, The server at www.guildwars.com is taking too long to respond." message. I've had GW wiki down before, but never at the same time as both the main site and the game itself.
Stranger yet, is for some reason, the BBC website has the exact same problem. This is the only site that I have found that is having the same problem, and it started at the exact same time. This is why i am assuming that its not just a problem with GW. (Yes, im that good at deducing the obvious).

I was waiting to see if a post appeared with anyone else having the same problem, but seems it may just be me. I would have tried support, if it wasn't for the fact the BBC is also down for me. Admittedly I've only tryed a few basic things, can't say im an expert in the slightest at problems like this. Only tried the usual restart, restart router... The broken sites would seem to indicate that a re-install wouldn't be of much help, but I may be wrong.

Any advice or suggestions on the problem would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it might be a server issue with the router, the router cannot connect with other servers. It's just a guess though.

Friend of mine has the exact same problem. He even tried to reinstall Guild Wars on two seperate occasions. I mentioned the BBC thing to him aswell and he thought that the BBC would never fail him, but it did.

As above, I would suspect a bad DNS in your ISP. A DNS (Domain Name Server) is a server that takes the URL you type in (such as www.guildwars.com) and converts it to the actual IP that Guild Wars uses (in the form of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).

You should contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and explain your problem.

Or, depending upon how computer savy you are, you can find the DNS settings in your networking options and enter one of the many free DNS servers that you can find by Googling.
