Default whats so special?

every one I speak too has major hype over rata sum and some people in the techy section of this site say that intel cards can't handle rata sum.

I made it their and I dont see the hype about the intel graphics cards failing and or the hype other guild wars players put on the place...

Some one wanna fill me in?

my laptop has a very hard time with the asuran areas of gw....sometimes it crashes other times I get really weird graphics. Cant tell you why--but I know it has problems with those areas.

Only problem I ever had graphics wise was trying to vanquish the burning forest area in eotn. It would literally freeze my computer and require a reboot every time. New graphics card, no problems.

Rata sum uses some textures which Intel graphics can't handle so they crash GW. Rata Sum is a good place to farm = hype.

Rule of thumb when it comes to PC graphics:

Trees slow things down.

Yep, learned this firsthand a long time ago. Also learned that generally Intel graphics can handle much overall.

i'm not aware that anyone ever "hyped" anything about rata sum. however, it's certainly true that certain intel integrated graphics cannot handle rata sum and other asuran areas. fortunately, i have the fix.

Some Integrated Intel graphics have serious problems with the graphics in Rata Sum and some other areas.
It's possible that you have a newer IIG that doesn't have those problems and/or it's possible that your computer has a discrete video card in addition to the IIG.

Maybe you have a newer revision of an Intel GMA that can handle GW or you are just lucky.
