This is absolutely bizarre
I created a trial account last night through NCsoft, I downloaded the game and set it up etc... and got on fine. I played for about an hour and loved it but when I logged off I found I wasn't able to enter the game again, I got error message 227, account not recognized....
So I changed my password through NCsoft and tried again, still same problem. Then I created a new NCsoft account, and activated a new trial with them for Guild Wars with a new username and password, this time it wouldn't even let me log on once...??? So if I have this right, NCsoft will let you create an account, download the game, and then you get 1 log-on with that account, with only that client you've downloaded and thats it? what a bullshit trial experience, am I missing something? Sorry if this isn't coherent and if you need any details cleared up I will. |

*You are permitted 10 hours or 14 days, whichever occurs first.
*Did you answer the security question on the logon screen? It asks you for the name of one of the characters on the account. Obviously when your account is new you won't have any characters and it accepts a blank field.

like I said I played for around an hour, so that certainly isnt it, and even then i'm sure it would say trial expired or something.
Yes I am putting in the name of my character correctly. |

This is now happening to my wife's account, and it is very odd. Same login error, and we've checked it multiple times, plus she has a shortcut set up with all the info she's been using for over a year now, so we know it has worked. We also know she wasn't hacked because I went onto my account and it has her last login as the time we played last night.
She has contacted support to get the password reset, but yeah, seems like this isn't necessarily an isolated incident... |

just wait for guild wars 2 if your interested in the game. its way to late in this to start new with them pushing to get 2 out
