Alright, i couldn't find it on the forums, and wiki was a bit confusing, now can someone go through the process of actually doing the -image process to download all the files i need for guild wars.

Now where do i insert the -image command? Are there risks involved? and wiki said dont use the same switch, can someone explain? Also im running windows 7

We actually do have a guide, it's in Software.

Here is a direct link though. If you have further questions, post them here.

Just to get my post count up;

Create a new shortcut for Guild Wars. Right click it, and press "Create Shortcut." This is somewhere in the middle.

Then, right click the short cut, and go alllllllllllllll the way to the bottom where it says "Properties."

Now, in the new window, you will see a line that says Target. At the very end of this line, type in -image. (for keyboard demonstration purposes, here is what you will press: space bar, -, i,m,a,g,e)

Then hit "Apply"

Now run this new shortcut and voila, you have several minutes (or hours if you like just downloaded all 4 games) of downloading to do. Yay!

Just remember to remove -image afterwards.

Thats why we make a new shortcut instead of just using the same, that way we can easily just delete the shortcut once we are done

You can always just leave the extra "-image" shortcut there, in case you need it again later.

I still run GWx2 (it aint broke, so I ain't gonna "fix" it with multi-loader) so I always run my "-image" shortcut to check for updates before starting the game - in case I need to re-copy updated .exe from my primary GW folder to the secondary.

That's odd. I was going to mention that the guide Lord Sojar linked to mainly involved the Vista games folder method, however I find that on my copy of Windows 7, there is no option to "Customise" games in that folder.

Is it just me, or have they disabled the only useful purpose of the games folder?

Never tried to customize in the game folder, personally, i use a shortcut pined to the start menu to do a -image, that way i can do it exactly like i did in xp. Works for both vista and 7 (not a fan of desktops full of icons )

Oh and by the way, it's voilà. There's an accent on the a . Still, kudos for writing it voila.

windows key+R
*Path to gw.exe* -image (example: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\GW.exe -image)
and that's it. no need to make a shortcut.

Shortcut is handy if you want to run it regularly (like I do).

And also, it's Start-Run on my PC, because I have disabled the Windows keys via the registry, to prevent the unfortunate consequences of accidentally pressing one of them, while playing a full-screen game O_o

Ok, so it's "Switch to left + Windows key + R" followed by "switch back to right" for G1x users.
