Ok I tried to figure this out but I'm so comp illiterate I started drolling on myself by the 2nd page of posts. I think I know the answer but you can still only have 1 toon from 1 account open at one time correct? this is for launching multi accounts on 1 pc?

That's it exactly, K'baa. There is no known way of running multiple characters from the same account, and if there were, it would be a serious breach of the EULA - wave byebye to account time

So, I used GWML to copy the GW files to a second location. I checked my Hard Drive space, and it went down accordingly. But whenever I tried to run to run it, it would start downloading all the files again. So I checked my "Guild Wars Copy" folder Hard Drive usage and it was like 100 kb. So I copied and replaced the files with the originals, and now it works great. But my overall Hard Drive space went down AGAIN. So I'm "missing" ~3.66 GB. Is there any way to restore that?

EDIT: I ran WinDirStat and found a nother copy of it in some weird place under C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pro gram Files. Not sure what happened, but everything is fine now. Thanks!

Vista/7 redirects writes to Program Files folder or other protected folders for restricted user accounts to VirtualStore folder. Seems to vary from app to app depending on whether Windows virtualization setting applies to them.

So when making the copy of gw with gwmultilaunch while logged in under a restricted user account. Windows probably redirected the write attempt to the virtual store "Program Files" directory.

just upgraded to v.6 32 bit from v.5RC

still the best program ever made but i have one small request...can you make a version of .6 that has the old layout and button style from .5RC? completely not worth your time so i understand if you ignore this post :P

It is a little bit of work. By .5 style do u mean buttons with english text instead of graphics? I was going for graphical button just so it's automatically more multilingual.

If you really want to, its not too difficult to download the source and move stuff around in Visual Studio. I believe you can download visual studio express edition for free from Microsoft and just drag the GUI elements around to meet your taste.

This is one of the best tools I've used so far. But I regret to say I liked more the 0.6RC buttons, but it's just my opinion.

Did today's update to the game break compatibility with multi launch?

Ever since this morning I've not been able to get it to work, trying to launch each secondary instance just brings the already open primary GW window to the front.

I've tried:

Launching each from within multi launch
Using individual shortcuts
Using master shortcut
Deleting and re-adding paths to my 4 Guild Wars folders
Reinstalling multi launch
-image
Deleting and Re-cloning Guild Wars from the imaged copy

Nothing seems to make it owrk.

(6.0 x64 on Windows 7)

Try KSMOD (latest seems to be 3.2). It also includes a multi-client patch.

The new update flummoxed my ability to use the program. I use vista 64 bit. I think I accidentally clicked the multilauncher before the regular copy. Either one works now, but when I try to launch the 2nd it tells me it is unable to access the folder, please check the path. I even tried making a third copy of the file, but that didn't help. I am barely computer semi literate. I'd appreciate any suggestions. I could not even find the multi launcher program to uninstall it and start over.
I found a cure that may be as bad as the disease. I am now running gwlaunch from a desktop folder, but I have a massive download when I log in. 135 megs this time. That was to log in (my account name, etc were unknown to it) Now I am downloading 30k plus files to make LA appear.
Never mind, I worked it our.

Default trouble with making a copy

Hey, I was pointed to this program by a friend and it worked all fine for him but when I tried to get the multi client all running there was a little complication

when starting the original file it works fine, trying to start the copy however gave an error about the .dat file
when I used to program to make a copy it said it was copying 3 files (the exe file the .dat file and the license file i guess?) but when I looked into the new map I made for it the only one there was an exe file (without the .dat and the other file)

After this I also tried to manually copy the .dat file to the new map with the copy of gw but it still gave the error when i was starting up the copy

Anyone know what i have to do to fix this?

Check the file permissions. Moving files about (especially to/from Program Files) can cause the Read Only flag to get set.
