Default Windows Media Center opens every time I close Guild Wars

This is a bit strange to me, as I've never heard of this happening. As the title states, Windows Media Center opens every time GW closes. This is especially annoying when I have to download an update because after the initial download, the client apparently closes and reopens itself to complete the update. I feel it's relevant to say I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit. This has been going on since I got my laptop and installed GW. If any of you have encountered and/or solved this before, please let me know. I'm fairly tired of hearing the sound WMC makes when it opens, and would like it out of my life.

Default Vista and win7 media centre

Go to the shortcut of Guild Wars, right click, go to properties.

On the Shortcut Tab, look for Target it should say "C:\ProgramFiles\blahblah....\Gw.exe." -mce

the mce is what opens media centre

Just remove it from the shortcut and it shouldn't happen anymore

Shaun gave you the solution. Here's a link on command lines and how they work: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line

The -mce command line is there by default on home premium versions of vista and 7 and on the media center edition of xp.

If you are using the GW icon in the Games folder (Win7/Vista), I'm not sure how you remove the -mce from it, since there is no Target line.
What you can do is to make Desktop shortcut for GW. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to navigate to the GW folder. It defaults to C:\Program Files\Guild Wars or C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars.
In the GW folder, find gw.exe (the .exe part may be hidden) - right-click on gw.exe and choose "Send To", then "Desktop (create shortcut)"
Check the properties of this new shortcut to make sure the Target line doesn't include "-mce"

P.s. - it may be possible to modify the GW icon's properties in the Vista version of the Games folder by right clicking on it and selecting Customize. If I recall though, the Customize option is not there in Windows 7. (I'm not on my main Win7 machine to check, atm.)
