Here's a thought - as gw.dat is currently somewhere over 4GB, can a pendrive formatted to FAT32 even access it?

How fast it wil run has noting to do with diskspace, like on a normal harddrive, the speed wil depend on how fast the stick is in it's flash memory and how fast the usb- gate is were you are connecting it to, it depends on the slowest of the two.

You have to remember your settings are actually saved in gw.dat but any registry settings ( gw folder path ) are stored in system registry on the machine its installed ( or ran ) on.
Tbh i got a feeling ( thinking of gw multi etc ) even if you ran gw,exe from pendrive it may actually use the dat file from the system if already installed.
No, the exe you launch from (ex. the one in the GW directory on the flash drive) should only seek the dat file thats in the same directory.

Any GW.dat that is over 4 GB in size needs to be deleted and re -image'd, because something is seriously wrong. Mine is currently fully downloaded and fresh and is 3.7 GB and it was on other machines too. This should run fine on FAT32 right?

What if a flash drive is formatted with NTFS?

I find that older dat files tend to be a bit bigger. I assume they just leave junk in there when they update it sometimes so it slowly gets bigger and bigger even though it shouldn't.

yea i need to download the rest, it's like 24,800 left.

i have a question though.

when I am downloading the files it shows the MB downloaded and the speed like 24.1mb(122kb) {these values change}

But it stays 0% and the number of files left doesn't change even though I am downloading the files.
