Default Guild Wars flashing

When I open GW it just flashes off and on with a black screen. All I have to do is restart my machine to fix it but its quite annoying. I have run multiple full system scans with norton and no sign of malicious software at all. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 200.

Could be an overheating issue, or a driver issue. It's hard to tell.
Any other game you can try and see if it cause similar problems?

Download HWMonitor and post the system temperatures that you get while playing GW. You could also try reinstalling the gw.dat file and by all means, update your drivers to the latest from www.nvidia.com .

I was having the same issues with my old GPU's. All I had to do to fix them was re-seat them. They somehow got a tiny bit loose (Don't ask how), and after pulling them out and re-seating them, they were fine.

I had this issue, not going to bother writing out everything but it turned out to be my Physx drivers crashing on launch or mid-way through my playtime. I experienced no issues in any other game.

Now that you mention it being impossible to close for you it may have been a driver issue for me. All I had to do was press the windows key to get out of it and close gws from the taskbar and restart. Just in case though my temp for the video card is 66 Celsius in game.
