Default Certain Keyboard keys not working

Hi all, I've had a strange problem over the last couple of days, not seen it before. Hoping someone might know what it is...

When I load GW everything works fine, I can move using WSAD, hold Ctrl and Alt to see tags, enemies etc, and use chat as normal.

The problem is if I change focus to a second copy of guild wars (Using GW Multi launch) or even just to a web browser and then go back, suddenly certain keys like Ctrl, Alt and Enter do not work, also I cannot do WSAD, and although I can type into the chat, I cannot press enter to commit it. And yes WSAD do work in the chat.

I have tried using GW without the Multi launch and still have the problem, i am currently downloading a clean GW from scratch, but its gona take a while.

In the meantime does anyone have a clue what may be causing this? I really cannot work it out. My daughter likes bashing the keyboard so she may have pressed something accidently, not sure why it works before the game loses focus though...

Anyideas would be appreciated, thanks

OK, have worked it out, seems to be the Logitech SetPoint software, recently updated it.

Very strange and annoying as it currently fails to uninstall as well, fantastic software that...

Did you ever fix it? I have the same problem. I can't alt-tab without it breaking my keyboard.
(PMing OP, will post here if I fix it)

Setpoint comes with macro-capable keys. You make a macro in setpoint and then add it to a key.

The macro I made was a targeting macro. I have 2 keys next to MOUSE1 that increase or decrease the sensitivity of the mouse. I never use that so I put ctrl+shift+doubleclick on it. Guildwars doesn't like that so that's why it blocks part of the keyboard that has functions assigned to it.

I'm guessing the setpoint macro options (that appear to have become an option around 2008, older versions did not have it) were never excluded from any cheat protection systems. Logitech G15, which is ancient now, can use it and I use it for chatmacros in pugs.

I saw lots of people on the internets who have the problem I had and if you just don't use the built-in macro option, G.W. works fine again.

So the fix is to not use the macros, turn them off, ie., make sure none of your keys say "macro", press ok and then restart guild wars. from now on it won't bug out!

i've had a problem with keys not working not the same as you guys though i'm havng a problem where every so often if i use the direction keys to walk if i press forwards and right my char will walk forwards but won't start moving to the right. but if i do it with the WSAD it's the left that won't work.

i even played guild wars earlier on in the day and it was fine everything worked properly but now this is happening. on a second note i know the keys deffinatly do work as if i just press them by themselves they will start spinning around that direction it's very strange.

GW does not like Macros and they are not officially supported, so if it works fine without them then that is the way to go.

Does someone have any other Ideas why it would be doing this. I have a MX 5500 for my system. I never updated to the new set point software and nothing changed. I know for a fact if I remove the game fully and the reinstall it. It works just fine. Only when I close it then go back the 2 nd time it does the same thing. The chat is just fine my arrow keys work for moving around and my space bar to lock on things work. Every thing else just does random skills it never does the same thing. I still have no clue it worked just fine before with out the set point software before. It just started doing it. My guess it some update in gw that is doing it. It not like I did any big changes to my system or software at all when it started.
