Well, it could be fun. It depends somewhat upon how generic the present fan is. If it has some sort of specialized only-fits-one-model housing it could be very hard to replace. Next possible problem after that is that it may have a very small proprietary connector.
But, if it's a more-or-less standard round or rectangular shroud, and/or if it's just a bare fan (no shroud) mounted into the frame with (usually) 2 or 3 very small screws, you may be able to find a replacement at a local computer repair/equipment place, or on some online parts places like NewEgg. If you can remove the fan, you could take it with you to stores to compare it for size and connector, etc.
There are chipset and GPU fans that are similar in size to some laptop fans.
