Default A red circle and yellow/green bar at the lower right corner of the screen

I was playing as normal, and I must have pushed some odd key combination... suddenly the hard drive starts working hard, the screen freezes... and there's a red ball and a yellow bar at the bottom right of the screen. After a while the screen still seemed frozen and the disk was still working hard, but I saw the yellow bar turn green.

I just forced a shut-down *shrug*
But what the heck was that?

The red circle could be your ping. That measures the time it takes a message to reach the servers It also shows the FPS frames per second. Could be something is running on your PC taking up enough processor time that GW is hanging.

It definitely wasn't the ping circle. It was much, much bigger.

The yellow (then green) bar was just like that you get on hexes, it was draining. My effects monitor is on the top center of the screen, and this "counter" was on the bottom right of the screen.

My pc is run like a very tight ship, I would know if it was a different process.
The guild wars screen froze as soon as this thing showed up.
My pc nor guild wars never ever ever ever freeze or slow down otherwise.

oops, that yellow bar doesn't fall down at the left, I forgot to erase that. It's just a bar.

I have no idea what the red circle is, but I just wanted to say that this is an awesome representation of Guild Wars!

Yes, yes it is. Screw GW2's awesome graphics; I want to play this!

In regards to the yellow bar+red dot, I have no idea. It's probably GLaDOS booting up or something. What were you doing at the time? A mission or something? And I assume you have no idea what that key combo is? Just to mention it, I've had stuff like this happen. Once, when I raged at my computer after doing something stupid , I managed to call up some sort of network usage graph on GW (it looked like the score graph, but it wasn't). No idea how I did it.

I know about the Performance / Network stats graph (shift F10, I think it is?) but I'd never seen this before. Would have taken a screenshot but I was just freaked at how bad it hanged my system (which I considered hang-proof until then).

I'm not even sure anymore if I was in town (Ascalon) or outside town. I thought maybe it was a system key combo, not a GW thing, but the bar was definitely from GW, it was just like the ones from enchantments, hexes, conditions.... but yellow, then green. Or was it green then yellow, when it reached halfway? I don't remember. Wish I had waited to see what it would do.

The red ball looked like the REC red light you see in cameras :O That, combined with the sudden and heavy hard disk activity, made me wonder if GW was trying to record the screen!

What is GlaDOS?

That made me LOL.

Could it have been windows updating something in the background that caused a pop up in the corner, which in turn crashed the game applet and your system???

As for GLaDOS, go google Portal / Portal 2

I agree with other posts, awesome representation of your game.

Don't remember seeing anything like that in the game.
Are you running any third person software Graphics card utility or some screen utility like fraps.

Just thinking that you triggered something in a program you haven't seen happen before, something newly installed/updated perhaps.
You know your own system best

AH! Found it!

Now that I look at it, that bar doesn't look anything like the skill countdown. PFfFFFFT!

It's a Gnome Shell feature in Linux. Ctrl Alt Shift R

Off to disable the shortcut before I accidentally trip it again.

Sorry for making you think there's some cool new hidden feature in GW, and I'm glad you guys liked my touchpad drawing :P

I hope GW2 runs in Linux, otherwise I will not buy it at all.

Never really had a problem with GW + Linux, I've been using it exclusively for yeeeears now. But I always buy nVidia cards anyway. I think some people had trouble because ATI doesn't care about making drivers for Linux. Guess they don't need our money *shrug*

I guess with continued support from whatever Emu you use GW2 might. I'm really hoping GW2 appears on OS X and PS3 as well. I could give a few major reasons why it could become even a console game too given the advancements and time developers are putting into other systems. It's time we break away from JUST the Windows world. The past couple years (and few months I've owned a ps3) I've played an actual MMO and some amazing games optimized for the controller and still awesome.
