Default Texmod issue

Hi guys,

I cannot get texmod to work for me after today's update. The problem seems to be that Guild Wars launches...does a mini update...then re-launches everytime I run it (whether i'm going thru texmod or not). It looks like they may have added something in the update possibly for security reasons that forces a re-start each time it's run.

So, am I the only one with this issue or is everyone having the same problem? If I am the only one then any ideas on what I could do to fix it?

I just loaded mine up (had to do it twice since I had not done the update ) and it works just fine for me....so its not texmod.

Did you use the -image shortcut? That usually fixes the problem.

-image didn't fix it. I don't need any updates. My client is fully updated and I've already downloaded today's changes. Yet everytime I run gw it restarts itself, just like it does when it needs to update.

This just started today and I haven't made any changes to my computer since yesterday. The only thing different is the update for GW. I assumed they changed something in the client.

Oh well i'm off for the evening. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Does it say at all - rebuilding gw dat file ?
From your description it sounds like a datfile error - wife gets them once in a while after an update ( sometimes during as well ) and we fixed it by deleting her datfile and i copied mine over - incase you dont have 2 pc`s with gw you will need to do -image and download whole thing.

Thanks for the help Spiritz. That isn't quite it but I'm definitely on the right track.

I don't see the "rebuilding gw.dat file" message, but it shuts down and restarts so quickly that it could be flashing that message and i'm just not seeing it.

I don't have 2 computers, but I do own 2 accounts and each is installed into different directories. I deleted the gw.dat from my main and copied over the .dat from the 2nd directory. They were different sizes so a corruption someplace sounds about right, however it didn't fix the issue. GW is still restarting even on the fresh .dat.

However, I tried texmod with the 2nd account and it's fine, so I just changed the login info for that copy to my main account and everything is up and running with texmod. I'll probably need to completely uninstall my main and re-install fresh from discs. Sounds like something has gotten crossed someplace.
