Alright, when this anniversary was announced I saw it as a great opportunity to work on titles, farming vaettirs, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people had the same thing in mind, in one way or the other.

My error problems started Thursday, I got error 040 and 007 every time i tried to select a character, and couldn't get a minute of actual game time that day, Friday and Saturday, only took about 2 hours each to get in, and could at least waste my time at the 9 rings, since I, luckily had a character in shing jea, but standing there was all I could do, since zoning kicked me right out again.

Today, I've been trying for 3 hours this far, copy pasting my password to save time, and I doubt it will get better.

If you managed to read all of this, sorry about the ranting, but here's the point. I know that I am not the only one having this problem, more people have had this whole anniversary wasted. If the team behind Guild Wars care the least bit about their users, they really should get this problem fixed and extend the duration of the event by the amount of days wasted on these errors.

I'm not saying this just for myself, since the days I have time to play enough to help on my titles already have been wasted on reading error messages, I just hate when games do this, announce a super-sweet event, and mess it up for loads of people.

Suggestions - delete datfile and use -image to rebuild a new fresh one - chances are yours may have been corrupted and yes it can happen after some updates ( been documented by many users on guru ).

Thank you for the suggestion, I'm definitely going to try it, managed to log on finally, so going to waste the tickets I have left until I risk logging off

I'm absolutely going to check in later and say how it went

I've not had any problems, I wasn't aware these errors were still happening.. hopefully they do extend the event and you get your problem fixed.

I'm not sure if it's just better now or if the suggestion kind of worked, but I can get on just fine now

Get on that is, as soon as i try to zone it goes straight back into error mode, so basically now I can do the same things as before, only without trying to do it for hours before I can get started, a bit better at least xD

Both me and the missus have been having the same problem all weekend.
Took us a couple of hours to get on.
Are they running GW2 on the same servers as 1 ? Or is at all the birthday celebrators that are partying on the servers.
