Exclamation WARRIOR /ELEmentarist advice needed

Hello to all

just had my new made Char mesmer/monk
(fantastic 1)

now i wanted to try a warrior on sunday. (thought before to go for a monk as 2nd but monk have too much people and most forget that other combinations might be more evil) and created myself a Warrior /elementarist.
(how much people also said this combination is maybe a good 1)

Also bought allready a heavy Knights Armor in Etins back
(was a damn hard part to buy that all........ : ( )

when i was a mesmer/monk i was able to beat even heavy warriors coz had a good combination than on saturday went to the 8 players PVP and saw there a Korean warrior. u should really see that. how fast he attaced all he started to attac a ranger/necro ----> died fast. than went over to me (i ve lost allready my energy coz killed others) even when made him lame he still was fast. he had hit verry fast with his sword and when they guys tried to run away he knocked them down (they were hurt again ) than he went on with fast sword attacs and killed immediatelly. a Hammer warrior (also with heavy armor) had no chance he died also after they fought the korean guy didnt even loose half of his health.
This Korean Warrior was W/E

i guess he used swordattribute +air or water magic
i ve tried that 2 and had the following spells (i went on air magic)

1)Frenzy
2)Sever Artery
3)Hamstring
4)healing
5)Lightning
6)Enervating Charge
7)Glyphe of the low Energiecost (
8 )reveiving

(attributes were on Full swordmastery, airmagic and 6 Taktics.)

and it wasnt good : ( althought i had heavy armor.... : ((

if someone has experience with that all welcome

greetings
Justin

PS: u really should see that Korean Warrior. like i said up first he attaced verry fast with his sword. made big demage when enemy started to run away he threw him on floor again made him hurt... and went on... all happend verry fast. (while for example a necro tried to cast his spells.......

It's likely the Korean warrior you mentioned was using a conjure spell from the elementalist profession(conjure lightning, frost, or flame) to add damage to his attacks, and using stances such as frenzy to speed up his attack rate. If he was using knockdown, my guess was that he had a build something like this:

frenzy
100 blades
sever artery
gash
conjure lightning
gale
sprint
hamstring

Yeah, I'd agree with Freyas's assessment (Although that's not the best build. Sprint, Hamstring, *and* Gale is overkill. I'd drop at least one or two for a Pure Strike/Galrath combination as well. But it doesn't sound like that's what was used.) he was using something to increase his attack power, something to increase his attack speed, and something to flatten you if you tried to run. As a Warrior/Elementalist the most obvious culprits there are 1) Frenzy, Flurry, or Berzerker Stance, 2) A Conjure, and 3) Gale, which means it's likely Conjure Lightning in 2). With a good quality weapon that's an effective combination.

However, what also happened was that you were running a very poor Warrior yourself. You were a Warrior/Elementalist and you weren't using a Conjure yourself? For that matter, you say your attributes were all Swords, Air, and Tactics. No Strength at all? You need to pump Strength and Swords as high as you can and find another attribute or two to go with them. There also shouldn't be a rezsig on your bar if you're playing PvP. You'll be with Monks and War/Mons and Ran/Mons, they'll handle resurecting. If the battle comes down to whether or not you have a rezsig, you've lost anyway, so use that slot on something else. Like Glimmering Mark, when you use Conjure Lightning that's just making you even better. There's a lot of possibilities that you're ignoring so far.

Sounds more like a conjure frost and water trident user to me.

Knockdown could also be bull's strile.

No conjure makes that a not so ideal line. With hammer/aftershock it becomes semi-viable, but not nearly as great as +12dmg per swing.

The earth line, unlike the fire/water/air lines, does not have a conjure <element> (like conjure flame). Conjures are an energy efficient way to deal more damage with a elementalist sub-class because they apply to all your attacks. It is even possible to use the +damage on all your attacks to your advantage by using things like flurry or one hundred blades. The more attacks per minute you have, the more you can take advantage of conjures.

The only way earth can add to the warrior's way of dealing damage is through the spell aftershock (deals extra damage to knockdown'd characters). If you are a hammer war, you can use hammer knockdowns with aftershock to do some damage.

What I was saying was that it is not worth giving up a conjure <element> to use the earth line, except for specific hammer knockdown builds using aftershock.

Granted, if you want more defense, grab armor of the earth, wards, and possibly obsidian flesh. You might not do much damage, but you can be confident that it will take them more than 10 seconds to kill you when it is 4v1.

Conjure Element is the entire point of going Warrior / Elementalist. Earth + Aftershock might be an option if both of the following were not true:

1) Conjure Element is insane
2) Hammers are terrible

If you want knockdown, use Water Trident - with the loss of Cleave Warriors are at a loss for good elites, so dig into your secondary. Conjure Frost and Water Trident is plenty for a secondary to do. Then just stack some damage and speed buffs with your Warrior part, and destroy.

Peace,
-CxE
