here is Gaile Gray on how long between preorder and switch to retail game

Wait... it'll be possible to have preordered the game, but not actually have the game by the 28th? Did I miss a step, there?

it depends if the shipper sends it out early so you have the retail game in your hands waiting to switch over or ships it OUT on the 28th with additional shipping time

In addition to that, some people from places far away from North America who pre-ordered from stores in North America might not get the retail package by the 28th. I hope for their sake that they do.

there should be no problem with an early sendout to make sure people get it on time since they have to wait for the game to go live regardless of when they actually got it in their hands

it is a game

i will read a good book to pass time (no tv)

Ah... so the grace period is so people won't be completely stuck when their copies don't arrive on time, they'll at least have had SOME time in the game. Ok, I've seen shipping problems before, this seems like a good way to forstall consumer riots. ^_^

If the retailers sned them out early enough there should be no problems. Plus I remember reading one of Gaile's posts on another forum stating that they are getting the retail package out early enough so the retailers can ship the package.

Also, some companies are emailing the retail keys to people who have preorded (so my Aussie friend tells me).
