You need about $3600 for a full new gaming super powerhouse now. Because graphics cards are so much money. And the best cpu's are very very expensive.

The X-850 or newer for me. I'll have to wait till money is better.

ie. The wife lets me...

What? Give me 2000 and I can build you 2 gig, Amd 4000, and X850, with a case, drives, 500 gb of hard drives and etc.


2500 with get you dual 6800 ultras.

If he were to buy a better computer, would a better graphics card be installed already? This way, he will be overall happier. What else can he upgrade to make his gaming experience better?

wow.... No wonder Guild Wars ran so smoothly for me. I have a custom Dell with like 5 GB, and a whole lot of stuff i do not understand what-so-ever. Also, my graphics card cost like $400 and stuff... YIPPEE!!!

Go and do your pricing 2000 won't get you all that. I know. I build systems for my work. The cpu alone is almost 1k.

I do not know how much my computer cost. My mom got it for me, but I am in love with it. Also, any news on when the new pentium processor is coming out?

The amd 4000? 600.
2 gigs of 3200 ram? 200.
X850? 500.
Right now we are at 1300.

700 more to get a motherboard, lets say thats 200.

500 left. Get a lian li case maybe? 200.

300 left. Power supply, ohhhh, need a nice 500 watt Antec, 100.

200 left. 100 for DvV-RW dual layer

100 for dvd-cd/rw real nice one.

You probably would actually have about 100 left.

oh, I did forget the hard drive. 2 250 will be around 300. 2200 total.

Cheap? Not really. Thats a very good computer.

lol. If I was getting SLI, I would NOT get Alienware, Falcon and Voodoo both make betetr SLI systems. For less too, IIRC.
