Default Skill Trainers

Hello,

I have been looking at the Skill Trainers listing here on GuildWarsGuru. I found a skill that I want to learn for my fire skills on my elementalist. According to this website, I can learn the skill in Ascalon city. Well, I went to the skill trainer in Ascalon City, but the skill I want was not listed there. Actually, there were absolutely no Elementalist skills, which is my primary profession. Is this because this website has beta information, or do I have to do something to make the skills show up?

Thanks,
CougarElite

The way skills are earned was changed since those lists were made. Now skills are gotten from quests, and if you don't finish the quests you can buy many of the skills you missed in the next town. So look around Ascalon for NPCs that offer skills as rewards, and if you don't find all of them you can buy them in Yak's Bend, the next town.

The trainer in Ascalon has nothing for you because you got all the skills in pre-sear.

Yes, our skill trainers are out of date at the moment. There were no skills at the trainer because you knew them all. Trainers now have extremely limited selection - limited to the skills available from quests from the area before, by and large. The Elementalist trainer in Ascalon City will only teach you Aura of Restoration, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Flare, Fire Storm, Lightning Javelin, and Blinding Flash. All skills you'd get through questing Pre-Searing.

Okay I don't understand why Yak's bend was considered the next city in the first reply. How do you determine what the 'next' city is?

The next town you will get to as you explore or do missions is the town of Yak's Bend.

As you do the missions they will eventually take you there.

Okay thanks a lot. I kind of forgot about the quests, but I'm going to start doing them tomorrow. Thanks for the help you two.
