Default What happened to my concept post??

Ok I don't get it. I read the "Read this First" and signed up for the guild data base, then I read the next sticky and I quote:

"The Guild Auditorium is a forum for the discussion of guilds and all things guild related. Here you can talk about setting up a guild, what the benefits of joining a guild are, as well as look for a guild to join or advertise your own guild."

So I post a thread on how I am trying a concept for a guild and wanted feedback. I was not recruiting nor did I mentioned anything about recruiting, I asked people to check it and let me know what they thought of the concept.

If I am not mistaken, it appears that my thread is gone... and I am confused -My post was "guild related" , and talked about "setting up a guild" so I don't quite understand why my post is no longer here on this board which seemed like to be the most logical place for it? Afterall, it met the guildlines of the board rules...

I would appreciate a reply from the admin or the moderator who "removed" the thread so I can better understand the do's and don't of this forum because your actions seem to contradict your rules.

Thanks

Advertising your guild meant using the LFG thread to recruit. I would still assume the very EXPLICIT and bolded rule saying not to advertise would have caught your attention.

I wasn't advertising. I was posting to discuss the concept I created for the guild and to see what peoples thoughts were... and I wasn't recruiting either-I didn't mention the the "R" word at all. I am recruiting in game, I dont need to do that in this forum.

All I wanted was feedback and I clearly expressed that. If you consider that as a form of advertising or recruiting, well then mabe you nned to state in your sticky not post any URLS and change the wording too because I quote again:

"The Guild Auditorium is a forum for the discussion of guilds and all things guild related. Here you can talk about setting up a guild, what the benefits of joining a guild are, as well as look for a guild to join or advertise your own guild." ... these are your own words...as stated in the first paragraph of this Sticky http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=2293 titled "GUILD AUDITORIUM RULES: READ THESE BEFORE POSTING HERE"

Your post was nothing more than a feeder post with an introduction and then a link to your guild.

Want to discuss a concept? Sure. But keep your links away.

I appreciate you for taking the time to respond to my concerns.

"Feeder", yes if you mean by that they had a link to visit the site. After all, it is best to show the painting on the wall rather then just trying to verbally describe what it will look like hanging on the wall ... As was the case here; I wanted people to look at the site to better form an opinion from graphic design, layout, and content because those elements are all part of the concept. I kept my post short and to the point and figured my web site would to the rest to convey the concept.

I also point out the following from your normal Guidelines post and I quote:

"if you would like to link your site / guild's page / miracle bath ointment / whatever, use a (reasonably sized) banner image or link in your signature ..."

so seeing how you have disable signatures I also saw no harm in posting my link.

Now I notice you have rewritten the first Rules Sticky I quoted: I should not of been so blatantly erased from this board without the common courtesy of, at the very least, a brief explanation as to why this was done...especially when it is obvious that I was not at fault for reading a Sticky that so poorly convoyed the regulations of this particular board in the first place.

I appreciate the work that has to go into maintaining and operating a site like this and the type of smaktards you have to deal with on a daily bases, it is tough and at times you have to be heavy handed, but you also need to be able to perceive the difference between harmless and malicious intent, and better accommodate the human beings on the other side of these posts. After all it is people like myself that makeup the subscribership that gives purpose to this web site , without us, the subscriber, your site is useless ... now I bring to your attention an in-game observation: Ever since I started playing in the BWE's and until now, whenever there is a player request for GW related web site for game information (an it occurs daily), I have never seen this one mentioned; I wonder why...

Thank you.

since we have some of the best information and most of the people are helpful in trying to answer a question as quickly and accurately as possible i wonder also

do you have any ideas why not?

it couldnt be that some posts or threads are deleted because that happens to a very few people and almost nobody even knows about the deletion

I changed a few words for clarification. There was more than one explicit warning to not plug/advertise your guild in the rules and description.
