Thumbs down Is this proper behavior for a moderator?

Is this an appropriate way for a moderator to act? The following is a quote from one of the moderators.

"Enough of this feaces, this is a pathetic "WAAAHHH NERF!" thread, and I wish I'd caught it sooner. Locked." -Principa Discordia

It should be Principia Discordia btw. Great book.

At any rate, I didn't see anything in that thread that should have caused it to be shut down. There was a very valid discussion going on there about balance issues.

Further, even if the discussion did deserve to be locked, is a comment like that the right way to do it? I assume that by "feaces" PD meant "feces", which isn't an especially nice way to refer to posts that interested parties took time in constructing. Nor is calling the people who enjoy this game and who are interested enough to try to make helpful suggestions "pathetic" very respectful to the consumers of the product---not to mention it is simply rude to treat people in this manner to begin with.

Rude comments are, unfortunately, fairly common in the forums. But one would expect that AN would demand more of their moderators.

Ok.
First things first. For all not so proficient ones in regard of the search function, you seem to relate to this thread.

I agree to you that by taking a brief glance over that thread it looks absolutely normal. No need to close it down.

But in thinking that this is the official forum of NCSoft, you are wrong. GuildWarsGuru.com had nothing to do with ANet, so they dont bother about customer satisfaction, but merely offer a platform for the GW community to discuss things.

Have you tried to contact Principa Discordia by a PM and ask him/her about reason why the thread was closed down before opening this thread?
If that didn't work, did you PM an Admin about it?
I recommend taking these steps first, before posting a thread like this, which has the potential for a flamewar and is offtopic in this forum.

I don't know if you can do it, but i would suggest to you to close this topic down for now and PM first.

Greetings from Germany,
Jan

I agree whole heartedly, was looking at that thread...didnt see much of a reason to lock it lol. I could count at least 10 other threads to lock before that one. And yes, if PD was gonna close it, should have given a little bit of a nicer notice.

And this one gets locked - it has nothing to do with Q&A.

Site Feedback has a reason its called that.
