Post The Money Making Thread, How do you make money?

To be honest, I love guild wars, however, me and my friends are abolsutley poor on it. We were discussing making a guild. Setting up the guild was easy, I mean 100 gold, that was 10 each. We are trying to get a cape but it isn't going so well. We need about another 700 gold or so. And at the same time trying to get the best armour possible. Then later I have a heart attack when I was told that a Guild Hall costs 100,000. We barely can afford 1,000.

So to answer my question: How do you make money?

I've seen LV1s walking up to the Guild Resistar and Emblemer buying capes for their guild even though they are the only ones in it!? It boggles the mind how they get the money.

So calling all Guild Wars millionaires or whatnot. How do you make money on this game? Any hints and tips would greatly be appreciated. Hey donations would be fantastic, but I don't expect you to donate. Thanks for your help.

Making money was hard for me at first, but managed to do it. You simply adventure, and sell the items you find, either to a merchant, or sell to other players.
Again, beginning is hard, i could never get out of 2bars but finally did.
I'm in a guild of 5 players, 3 of them active, we have money for everything desired. I even help them to get armor.

So adventure and uncover more items, and sell them. That's how I do it.

its really just taking the time to farm for money/items and not being bored of doing continuous runs.

endurance is the key to making money.

(thats just my opinion.hehe)

Yep, and as you progess you're going to find far better items. Don't bother trying to farm as a low level.

cool thanks for your input, i understand what you mean. Fortunately, during the Great Northern Wall mission I killed several creatures selling the stuff i didn't need and i made 224 gold, which I'm chuffed about.

Keep these suggestions coming.

Well, When you enter the crystal desert, items drop commonly wich you can sell for 50+gold each.

The reason you see such low levels that are rich, is most likely because they have a " main character" wich is further into the game, and they transfer things between characters via Storage.

Hope this helps, I can donate 300gp for the guild cape, if you wish

Regards, Ashleigh.

As you progress in the game the gold drops increase in size dramatically. Then you just feel out the balance of selling vs. salvaging for the loot to gain cash. In the high level areas you get tons of stuff.

There are a couple of great vids floating around here somewhere showing how people farm...

I agree with the guy about dye. Get an idea of what they are worth and you can sell them easily. The rest of the stuff is a real drag to try to sell unless its rare.

I had troubles until I got up to about Yaks Bend. There I started hitting runes and whatnot. Raking in 11,000 for a major rune of vigor didnt hurt . My friend kept asking me to buy a cape for our guild when I had about 3plat. Capes really arent important and should be the last of your concern until you get enough money that it wont hurt you...

Yep, thats exactly what I say. Also, when you get to the Gates of Kryta mission, making money will be alot easier, becuase the drops are worth more and stacks of 6+ drop instead of one or two.

Personally I have found just getting through the game as the best way to raise money. I am now lvl 20 and have ascended. I have never had alot of money, but I have never farmed. I have my armor and a good weapon, and at this point all I have to do is save up for my 15k armor...

Yep, that's one thing I do. Also, if your guildmates help each other, esp. the noobs, it is great.

And of course, selling good items, weapons, and dye's is a very good way to get gold.

One bit of advise I'd give to a noob, is to find out what types of resources(iron, leather, bone, etc...) your character will need for better armor and then salvage items to find those items. Hold on to them and sell the rest you don't need for gold. In Ascelon, post sear, there is some great armor you can get for 150 gold each piece plus the resources. Example: 4 tanned hide, and one bone, plus 150 gold for a _________.

Please note that there are two armor crafters in Ascelon post sear(by the big bonfire. One sells better armor than the other.

yeah i got a couple of dyes from killing monsters. I sold them to the dye trader for 235 for both (1 was 135 the other 105). Was I right to do this? or should I have sold them to players?

Either way, keep your posts coming. I value your advice.

you wont need to save up for a guild hall... the correct way to get one is become good at the game and win it for yourselves. if you buy it off a high level guild, you are jsut further damning yourself to mediocrity.
