Default Question about expertise with warriors

Hi,

I want to try the mele type combat. I made a warrior but i am always low on energy to use skills from my secondary.

I thought i could make a R/W. I would benefict from having more energy and more energy regen, and of course less armor. I plan on using sword skills and complement with Troll unguent, apply poison and maybe traps.

The question is: Will my warrior sword skills wich require adrenaline cost less from expertise??, i understand the ones that use energy will cost less.

I have very little experience with warrior. Is this a stupid idea? should i just make warrior as primary if i want to go mele.

Thx for ur help.

I have not tried a Ranger Warrior yet, however I believe that expertise does NOT lower adrenaline costs, only energy.

I don't think it's dumb, just different. You will most likely be putting points into 4 attributes instead of just 3, but it should still be playable.

What was your other character that you were unable to use because energy costs were too high? I run a warrior monk tank who has no problem with energy at all.

i run a w/mo as well, and just use things like healing breeze and mend condition,
in addition the diff.in armor is that rangers armor is a little weaker and also b/c rangers deal in range combat and warriors in meele, warriors have +amor from physical attacks while rangers have it for elemental attacks, armor overall isnt' too diff.

Expertise doesn't lower the energy costs of secondary skills. My necromancer skills still take the full energy requirement, but my ranger skills require less energy due to expertise.

i think u don`t get low cost on necromancer becouse necro uses spells not skills, but i may be wrong on that one as well.

My idea was to play warrior with ranger as primary just to have more energy and be able to use more skills. If my warrior skills require less adrenaline i can use them faster and more often, but if it doesnt work that way my idea is useless, i would be saving only on energy skills and i would have less armor.

Since it doesnt reduce adrenaline skills costs i see no reason to go with ranger as primary if i want to use a sword.

I liked the idea of using poison with other warrior conditions.

Well thx a lot for telling me, now i wont waste time.

I think they're all skills, whether spell, trap, nature ritual, hex, etc.

Nuba is right, Expertise doesn't affect Necro Spells / Skills....IIRC Expertise affects Attack Skills, Nature Rituals, Stances, and Preparations...so yes, Expertise does affect Warrior Attack Skills and Stances that require Energy...

Check the Type, if it's hex/spell/enchantment they are not affected by expertise. for a R/Mo, only holy strike and smite are affected by expertise. Necromancer probably has a couple as well. Warrior skills should be reduced, I'm pretty sure.

warrior skills are reduced but only energy ones, not adrenaline ones. right?. thats the really interesting point for me.

I may try it anyway, just to make sure, but how can i tell the difference?, i mean when u use an adrenaline spell u dont see how much adrenaline it costs.

Here's a link (check out Lasher's last post):
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ight=Expertise

According to that list and what Lasher appended to it at the end, I'm pretty sure Adrenal skills are not effected at all by Expertise.

Edited: Here's a quick and dirty way to test. If Expertise did indeed change Adrenal Costs, you should be able to use a high costing Adrenal Skill relatively much quicker. Simply reduce the Expertise to 0, and try to get a beat on how quick it is to build up one of your high costing Adrenal Skills. Then re-spec your Expertise to what it was previously, and go beat down the same enemies and see if it is a much quicker build up time for that same skill.
