Default Granite citadel, UW and FoW arnour???

Hey there!

Was wondering if someone could help me. I'm a little confused. All this shall be explained. I shall start from the beginning....

The other day I took a guild member to Temple of ages when I arrived I unexpectedly stumbled upon hordes of people standing around shouting "WTB obsidian shards and ectoplasm 4K" and screaming such things as "2 Mo needed for FoW, will pay 5k". All this confused me, since before this point I had no idea that missions were available from the temple. After scouring the internet for info I discovered that there were two misions available from ToA, the Fissure of Woe and the Underworld. I also unearthed the fact that your region needed favour of the Gods to play these missions. Being part of Europe I later found out has its negative side .

After waiting a little while for Europe to gain favour I played FoW and got pretty far. During this little excursion I managed to pick up an Obsidian shard and was informed by someone that I was quite lucky to do so. I was baffled by this so decided to research this matter using the trusty internet again. It was a this point I discovered a crafter in FoW and the possibility of new armour. However I also found out about the cost of this armour. I was not happy. Not long after this I ended up finding myself in Granite Citadel and after asking what the point of the town was, I was informed that this particualr location housed a specialist armour crafter. I found the guy in question and was amused to find I'd have to fork out around 80K including materials for these pieces of armour. I was also quite tickled by the fact the armour has no diff stats only looked marginally different (I now know that ArN are updating these armour pieces to have unique looks).

This is where my confusion begins. Now I had two places to go for expensive armour. One place requires bout 80K and the other lots of shards and ectoplasm and 15K. So whats the difference? Where should I go to buy armour. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks a lot!

Right

Actually there are 3 places, 2 linked though.

The Granite Citedal, and Marhams Grotto are both towns in the South Shiverpeeks and have 15k Armors, 2 armor types in each. E.G Pyromancer and Hydro in Granite, and Geo and Aero in Grotto.

These 15k armor sets, require 60 or 75k (depending on whether you need helm) And require quite alot of materials. The armors do you look different some more so than others. Some look just a little diff, others better, others worse IMHO.

These armors have no different stats than Droknars forge 1.5k sets but as i said, look different, this is basically so people can see where your upto, a status. Nice to have people comment on your armor because you can get it and they can't yet. I say status, because the first set of armor you can buy looks the same as the last (i mean 1.5k set) so no one can see straight off where you are in game or your financial state. Anyway i babble on.

The FoW armor...... requires the same 15k per item, and same materials to craft, with the weighty addition of 130 obsidian shards, and 130 globs of ectoplasm in total for a whole set.... (around them amounts, rounded to take into consideration the helm for warriros etc)

Once again, same stats, but is anoter status point, hardly anyone has these armors. I heard a rumor that the stats on these might be increased slighly???

Anyway one last thing to take note about the FoW armor is although there is still different armor sets, e.g pyro, aero, hydro, geo, with there same stats as droknars 1.5, all these sets look the same... there is ONE set image for the 15k FoW armors. So Pyro looks the same as Hydro .. although have the different stats.

Thats all, sorry about spelling and grammar, rushed it

Cheers thats been a great help. So from what you're saying the FoW armour is probably a better choice because of possible stats increase?

Hmm, it's like the 'best' armor you can get, i say MAYBE stat increase in the future but that was just on boards and no official word that i have seen myself.

Everyone wants that armor so you'd make people very jelous when they saw you. But it would take so long to save up enough to buy ecto and shards for it.. they are like 4k for 1. Armor total would come out around 1000plat... 1 million gold.

You're very lucky to get 7 shards in one Fissure run. I've been there for near 5 hours before and gotten 1... Most I've ever gotten from one run is 2.

You can find lots of screenshots of the 15k and FoW armors here.

Btw, the stats won't change for the FoW armor, it's just a silly rumor.

wait, I thought all 15k armors looked the same..... so If i were to get the pyro set in granite, then go and get the set from fissure, they would look different/same?

If they looked the same, then you'd be spending 15k for a set of armor with the same AR as Droknars armor. They would indeed look different, except certain ones that the GW devs havn't changed yet. For example, 15k druids armor for rangers looks exactly the same as the kind bought in Droknars.

I used 15k pyro from granite, untill they released the graphic for aero last wednesday... then i went and bought that, i have two 15k sets woo. Untill then 15k aero and 1.5k aero looked the same.

At least its a bit of confirmation that they are indeed doing graphics and taking there time on them, druids will be next most probs.

Each 15k armor 'will' look different if it has not already been updating... the FoW armor looks different again... and there is only one set image for the armor, so pyro and aero, and geo, and hydro all look the same, but keep there stats, as i said above
