o_o 2nd level? That's REAL low, can kill maybe a few monsters a time. I wouldn't and don't leave under 8th lvl, but I saw a few lvl 2 and 3 player in game

I generally wouldn't reccomend leaving before level 4. Just doing the quests to get your skills for free should take you upto that level. I think anything past 6 is starting to waste time.

Unless you've been around the block a few times, it's probably best to wait a few levels before crossing over. Pre-searing is much more relaxed and less tedious.

Although I have crossed at lvl 1(with a smiting monk no less) and gotten up to 6 in no time just fighting gragoyles and stone elementals outside. So it is possible.

Lvl 5 or better makes post sear a bit more manageable for first timers, but there is nothing against going to post sear at a low level.

For everyone of my characters I have left at around 5-6. I just don't see how people can stay past level 10.

I got to level 10, but then very few monsters were giving me any experience, so I entered the Academy.

if it's your sons character he's going to have difficulty if he is real young...actually anyone at level2 is going to have difficulty.

if you'd like I can get a buddy together and the three of us can level the character a few more levels. Going from 2-7 in post sear is gonna be real quick(but difficult)

The average level for searing seems to be level 6. Players who are on their second, third, or fourth character sometimes choose to go higher or lower, depending on what they're trying to accomplish. Some people want to see how high they can get pre-searing, others want a really low level character or just don't want to go through all the quests again that they've done multiple times already. I just started my fourth character, and he's level one and he's near the end of the game. I just got a friend to run him just for fun, though I intend to go back and level him up normally soon. Level 2 is kind of low, and for your first character I strongly, strongly recommend going back and doing pre-searing over again. There are a ton of quests to do there and it's really worth your time to go exploring and doing quests. As I said, level 6 seems to be about average, though if you go higher you'll have it easier right after the searing.

like Sholtar said...if you pay close close attention in pre sear...you'll notice things in post sear that others don't

I recommend not even questing in presearing until you are level 3 or 4

during the 1st 5 levels,
you get *great* experience from simply killing things

Ninna, while that's true, it's a lot more fun to just play the game, and in the long run a few thousand experience isn't going to make much difference at all.

And yeah, post-searing has a lot of links that people don't notice. Pretty much everything in pre-searing is followed up at least a little bit post-searing, and you get to know the characters much better than you would if you just went post-searing right away.

Well, I did the same thing as dumbveggie84 did. Thankfully though, I was intelligent enough to only do that on my fourth character, and only for a little while. Now that character is going through the game the right way. That's a moderately fun thing to do on an extra character, but it's no way to actually play the game. For your main character, you should basically do every quest you can.
