Default Trap this!

Hmmm... a thought, may try tonight... can you equip the same skill multiple times in your skill bar? For example, could I have barbed trap in slots 3 and 4?

Probably a good thing though... reign in the devious minds like myself.

Welll, that is what spells like Arcane Echo is for [mesmer] :P With that you can "echo" any spell on your bar [effectively duplicating it]. There's also the Elite Echo, not sure which one is more applicable for traps :P

Arcane Echo:
If you cast a "spell" in the next 20 seconds, Arcane Echo is replaced with that spell for 20 seconds. Arcane Echo ends prematurely if you use a non-spell skill.

Arcane Echo is for spells only, Echo{E} is for any skill

Do traps count as spells? I'd hate to give up Barrage...

You can also use Arcane Mimicry if an ally has an Elite you want.

Depends on PvE or PvP. If PvE, you may not be using a bow anyway if you are a serious trapper - it's nice to have a larger EN pool so you can pump out the spirits and traps you need as quickly as possible. It's all about time efficiency as a PvE trapper. The larger the EN pool & the better your Expertise, the more stuff you can pump out with QZ, EW, and SQ running, and therefore the fewer trappers you need, and therefore the better (and more challenging) your trapping experience will be. Three-person Smite runs are pretty fun.

One of my favorite 1 - 2 mesmer skill combos is Arcane Echo and Arcane Thievery: 1st, Turn on AE, then cast AT on something. AE will become AT, and the AT you just used will become whatever skill you steal from your target .

Now you can use AT again to either shut off (and steal!) a second skill from that same target, or shift focus to somone else and shut down (AND STEAL!!) one of their skills. Great fun!

You can wind up with some really cool combinations of skills this way too.
