Default Lornar's Pass Hell

I literally walked out the Lornar's Pass gate from Beacon's Perch with 5 henchies (2 tanks, another healer, ranger, enchanter), when we ran upon 2 ice imps and some large gangly creature. They proceeded to take the whole group out in 45 seconds!

We've survived 15 Charr attacks before, and these 3 creatures swept the floor with us.

Scary part? There was a group of about 6 of them just around the next curve!

Yikes!

Suggestions? I'm a healing Monk primary.

Level 24 baddies right? Don't go that way. Only runners to Droks go through there.

Your going out the wrong door. That area is not for anyone less then 20. Even at level 20 with Forge armor it is still very hard. If you want to get to the Forge, then find a runner because you'll never get there on your own.

you will get there eventually when you actually play the game and go through missions. After Dragons Lair you will arrive in Droknars Forge

Ah, had no idea they were level 24, LOL. Surprising they'd put something like that there this early in the game.

In case you're wondering, I like to explore areas after completing missions because sometimes I overlook chests, miss experience opportunities, etc., so I thought-"Hey, there's a door I haven't been through" and went my merry way.

Thanks for the responses.

Yeah, those guys are nasty. Go out the north door and through the caves (you pick up another quest there as well).

they were put there to discourage people from running through Lornars Pass into Droknar Forge and getting the end game armor halfway through the game.

too bad it didn't work

Not true in my mind - it seems to me that the Lornars Pass route was put there to encourage people to TRY and do it. Otherwise they could have just made Snake Dance/Dreadnoughts Drift a dead end just like Tascas Demise + Mineral Springs are.

I run it with my R/Mo using Dodge/Storm Chaser/Lightning Reflexes/Mend/Healing Breeze.....it's not easy, especially since I don't have a stance that will keep me from getting knocked down...but I make it 1/3 of the time.

certianly not often enough to be charging for it

You need charge and balanced stance. All other sprint skills are stances, so they replace balanced stance. Charge on the other hand is a shout, so it doesnt replace balanced stance.
