Default Hench Mission In Fort

Hi, Newbie here let's hope we have a nice good thread going here.

I was wondering how many people had entered a mission with the Henches post searing in the fort. That pushing back the charr mission.
If you have I was wondering if you could help me. I've done the bonus part, fixed the trebushe' (Sp?) and blasted the crap out of some Charr. However when I go to advance on the gate, more and more char spawn and I just can't fight them off as they have highground and I'm running on low. Any tips and advice?

Thanks in advance

After you blast the Charr and get to the area near the wall where they run towards you, you need to run away quickly back to the second trebuchet. The Charr will gather there by the wall and you can blast them again. After that you can go back over there and kill whatever ones remain.

Yeah I figured I could do more with the second one but they just kept running thru the wall, also, the more times I do this mission do I keep getting 1000xp for the bonus? Or now that I've done it once has it disabled?

You only get the bonus experience once. And there is a set number of charr that come out to fight you. After you kill them then there will be no more coming.

Ahh so it's a case of letting them spawn, luring them to the right spot and doing so untill no more spawn? Gotcha, off to do it now. Also can you tell me what I get for this mission? Besides a crap loada XP lol.

Exactly.

All missions just give you 1000 experience (plus another 1000 if you do the bonus) and send you to the next area in the game.

Cheers mate, off to do it now. I'm basically doing these missions because my guild friends have advanced more in the game than me, so I'm keeping my self occupied till they get on their only just post searing chars, like mine lol.

Just remember to take that last bit slowly. Don't rush headlong into fights.

If your using henchies you will still have to fight a fair few charr in the end 9by the wall). But if you take it nice and slow you might even get lucky and kill the boss with the 2nd siege engine.

What I typicallly do is run from the 1st SE after killing the charr.. down to the 2nd SE and arm it.. then usually there's a whole slew of charr in the target area.. quickly fire it off.. if you'd run right down and gone straight for it you have just killed a whole chunk..

I then kill the roaming charr who patrol around the 2nd SE.. I then re-arm the 2nd SE again... I then move to the target area carefully and move up. usually iwhen I get so far up the charr start to poor out... at this point I run back to the 2nd SE and set it off - because usually there's another small collection of charr waiting in the target zone.

After that I go back and slowly engage 1 group of charr at a time.. till all thats left is the boss & a flame keeper (iirc).. at which point I run up to the boss and kill it.

the whole draw into target zone is easier if you have another player... but it vcan be done with henchies. Just remembver to run to the 2nd SE straight away.. and then take it nice and slowly once you killed the 1st group.

I have so far made it to the Desert area using only henchies. It can be done. Take your time and always learn from your mistakes. At the end of this particular area I do as kamatsu has stated. But after the first shot at the second catapult I re-arm then go and draw out the char. This way when I run back to fire it's ready to go.

You can buy skills in Ascalon, Grendich Courthouse and I think Yak's Bend in that area of the map. But you should try and get as many skills through quests as you can. Save the skill points for later in the game when they are harder to come by.
