Ancient Weapons - Guild Wars Forums

In my idle explorations in the Crystal Desert, I've stumbled upon an item that's called "ancient weapons" that looks like a flaming red chest with a tall golden "jet exhaust" glowing vertically up from it like a beacon. It can be picked up, carried and dropped like any other item you might find, but it can not be carried through any of the gate portals and must stay in the Arid Sea area. I have yet to find what it's to be used for. Is it for a quest that I just haven't picked up yet, or what? I've searched on a few of the fan sites, looking for some posts that might shed some light, with no luck. Anyone know what the Ancient Weapons are for?
