Default Bonus Kill Percentage Question. Can I count?

Hi..
I was doing thirsty river for a bit of farming last night and i noticed my energy bar.. My normal energy rating for my e/me20 is 90. So after killing a few giants and getting my bonus to 10% I checked to see that my skill bar said I had a maximum energy of 97. 97? I was under the impression that 10% of 90 was 9. Therefore I should have 99 energy. Well thats what I thought.. Have I been wrong all these years and was my maths teacher right when she said i'd never amount to anything playing all these stupid computer games...... Or was that my girlfriend who said that... Or my father... Or my

Orrr...

-You were exhausted
-Your focus/wand has energy under certain conditions
-You didn't have 90 to begin with
-Your bonus wasn't 10% of the time of checking

The computer doesn't... normally make math errors.

I think its like runes and death penalty: some of the bonuses are added AFTER the percent change of a DP/Moral Boost, so presumabley you had a +20 of some kind to your energy.

Rather than 90 becoming (90+10%)=99,

you get:

70+20 becoming (70+10%)+20=97

It wouldnt have to be exactly +20 either, since it has to round to a whole number.

Default Yeah Yeah :)

Hehe.. i was wondering if one of the first replies would be.. 2 energy who cares..

And your right i dont really care about it...

Anyway.. I had no dp

Without any energy mods my energy level is 66 (15 in attributes)

Superior nrg storage +9 = 75
Energy head piece + 3 = 78

Fire wand (no energy mod)
Flame artifact (energy +12) = 90

So in total 90 nrg + 10% Bonus = 97 ??

How about this?

(66 * 1.1) + 9 + 3 + 12 = 96.6 = 97

So the 10% is applied before your energy mods.

no..

(78 +10%) + 12 = 97.8, rounded down to 97!

There's your answer.

Moral boost obviously doesn't take into account energy gained from wands/focii and only takes into account your base energy boosted by energy storage. This would mean that the moral boost is applied to your base energy minus any energy from wands/focii and after applying the moral boost the game then adds any energy from wands/focii and then rounds any decimal down to a full number.

To illustrate...

Your base energy w/ES is 78 - and 10% of that us 7.8
78 + 7.8 = 85.8 <-- moral boosted energy
85.8 + 12 energy from focii = 97.8 <-- energy after wand/focii added
rounded down = 97 <-- final energy

And this explains why you have 97 energy and not 99 energy. Promblem solved.

Jenosavel - Hmm.. question is, does the game round down or up... and when does moral boost get applied to energy. Before any mods are done, or after base attribute mods are applied? NVM - looks like Ensign answered this :P

anways.. do have a question.. what does he mean by "Superior nrg storage +9" anyways? If he already has 15 in ES.. and a sup energy rune is only +3 .. what the hell is this anyways? Where'd the +9 come from?

Like I know the +3 from headgear is +1 headgear & Major ES Rune.. but what the heck is that +9 he's talking about?

As mentioned, morale bonus / death penalty only affects *base* health and energy. On health, 10% Morale Bonus means +48 health for every level 20 character, since every other bonus or penalty is from equipment. For energy, normally this only works on the base 20 energy of a character, giving +2 energy at the full 10% morale bonus.

For an Elementalist, Morale Bonus / Death Penalty also affects your bonuses from Energy Storage.

In your case, it looks like you're using an Elementalist with a standard focus and level 16 Energy Storage. That means you have 22 energy from equipment bonuses, and 68 'base' energy, so a 10% Morale Bonus would give you 10% of that base, or 6.8 energy rounded to 7.

Peace,
-CxE
