Odd Runes in Grent's/SF - Guild Wars Forums

I've recently ran into a problem that only seems to occur in these two spots. I pick up, say, gold Dwarven Armor, ID it, and it tells me it's a Major rune, not superior. I pick up a purple, and it tells me it's a Minor rune, not major. What gives?

Blue armors can only have Minor runes.
Purple armors can have either Minor or Major runes.
Gold armors can have either Major or Superior runes.

Also, it's been like this way for a while now, before GF/SF came out.

I think it might have to do with how common/expensive the runes are too. Like the minor runes that are always 100 & common (I tend to get a lot of necro & mesmer) seem to be blue, while minor swords/tactics/whatever will tend to be purple. I dunno, that's how its been for me...blues are 100g at trader and if its a purple minor it's more than that.
