Er, yeah, any with skill rewards!

Seriously, if it is your first time through then do them all. Some quests open up others once completed so if you skip some you may miss some skill rewards.

Every quest that has skill rewards will change their rewards to fit your profession

There may be some quests with item rewards you may want, but as far as that, I can't remember any specifics.

I don't recall having to do any quest that will open up a skill quest, (other than the Sig of Capture in LA). Otherwise, I do agree to just do them all on your first time through the game, it makes it a little more fun. If you just want to do the "must do" quests, just look for the skill quests and high xp rewards, over 500 (or if they can be completed really quick). As most quests aren't worth the xp since you could get it faster just XP farming. Or if you see a reward item you feel you really need.

There is a quest in Grenditch courthouse or piken square, forgot which one, that will give you a low req holy rod with 10% all skill recharge and energy +3 while health is over 50%. after almost 500 hours, i still use this rod and it was a simple quest. took like 2 minutes. Other than that, focus on high exp quests, and any quest that give you skills or an item u might think you need for a char youre playing.

Outside Sardelac Sanitarium (formerly Ashford Abbey) Grazden the Protector is waiting with his little Farmer friend. You have to escort the farmer back to Ascalon, head back to Grazden again. He then gives you a quest to find Paulus (remember the guy you escorted with the holy thingie through the catacombs?). This leads to the skill reward "Resurrect." Very useful skill when your party wipes and everyone's used their resurrection signet already.

Mesmer-specific quests are found at Sardelac and Serenity Temple and Yak's Bend (you'll get there eventually!).

Just take all the quests you can, like you did in pre-searing! Remember to run all the way around inside Ascalon City, because I missed Symon the Scribe and Captain Arne at first, they have some big quests for you.
