Default Controlling Henchmen...

Is it possible to send them in to attack while you stay back. I've tried all the possible combinations of CRTL, ALT, SHIFT & SPACE.

Thanks

Default Controlling Henchies

When I'm playing as a caster/healer and I want the henchies to attack for me, I do the following:

- Get somewhat close to a mob, but not so close that they are within your aggro bubble.

- Type 'C' to target the closest monster. (Tab to the one you want if you have a specific target in mind.)

- Now press Shift-Ctrl-Spacebar and it should call out your target.

Your character will not actually attack. You'll just stand there. But if you are close enough to the mob, your warriors should rush in to attack that nearest monster. You must be reasonably close. If you are too far from the mob, they won't rush in.

Once you see your warriors running towards the mob, give them a bit of a head start, then press Spacebar normally. This will get your character moving as well, and you can begin casting, healing, whatever it is you do in a battle.

This strategy works very well for me. It makes my warrior henchies tank like they are supposed to, and keeps the monsters away from the softies (including me) most of the time.

Yes, in an indirect way I guess.... just Ctrl + Click on an enemy to shout 'I'm attacking <insert enemy name here>'. Then when your character starts running towards them just stop running and the henchies will continue to pwn said enemy.

Why you'd want to hold back and let henchies do the work is anyone's guess....

The reason Adam is so the MOB's will target the tanks instead of yourself, the MOB's will enter the henchies aggro bubble before your own and target them first. If you are playing a softie then it keeps you from getting tanked, before your tanks.

^^ I'm always a warrior or ranger so the whole prospect of staying back and throwing around balls of fire / health is alien to me :P

Thanks,

Healers might be interested in that. They aren't much use in a fight aside from... well, healing. Though with the removal of attribute refund points (when did that happen? That's a good move I think) there's no reason why you can't just respec to a smiter or something when going out with henchmen.

Most casters are pretty vulnerable though, so being the first to attack a mob isn't usually a good thing.
