Life stealing skills ignore armor.
Mesmer Chaos (I believe that's the damage type) damage ignores armor.
Monk holy damage ignores armor.

Weapon damages always take into account armor, regardless of their type.

As far as I know, only elemental damage (fire, earth, cold, lightning) actually takes armor into account.

Please note that as far as weapon / wand / staff damage goes, none of those ignore armor no matter what type of damage they are doing unless they have some form of modification such as sundering or Judges Insight is currently affecting you.

meanwhile weapon skills - ie axe attack - do their damage ignoring armor
(thats why you can get some juicy warrior and ranger spike despite having to carve through thick armor)

Crystal Wave (Elementalist's Earth Magic Spell).

Or you can use Judge's Insight (Monk Smite Spell) and do any spell you wish and it'll be holy damage.

Ok we're duplicating now, yes holy damage, shadow damage, chaos damage (by spell)
any drain/life leech also, and spells that indicate it (ie crystal wave, obsidian flame)

Holy
Shadow
Light
Dark
Choas
Direct life stealing ignores armour AND spells like prot spirit have no effect.

All of these damage types ignore armour, and some Ele Skills also ignore armour
