ArenaNet will whip out the nerf gun and blow holes in your account if they ever find out you buy gold.

I thought it stated in the EULA (that you accepted the terms of) that buying stuff is illigal.

Not to be a stickler, but its not ILLEGAL, it's just against the terms of agreement. Illegal means you are commiting a crime, punishable in real life, not in a video game.

But yeah, buying gold online for real money is where you'll find the real nerds.

However you are buying not selling.

This is another one of those illegal to upload but legal to download things.

First off, if it's illegal to upload, it's also illegal to download; it's just that catching the people to download is much harder than finding the people who upload.

That aside, yes, it's against the EULA and Anet's policies. If you want to take a chance at having your account permabanned, then go right ahead.

in addition to getting your account banned, you would also be helping those that like to "capitalize" on games that were ment to be fun.

In the beginning it just seems like you never have enough gold. But as you progress through the game you get more and more.

It only seems like that in the beginning because people don't take the necessary measures to making enough gold for their items.

Sell and salvage everything you get.
Sell your items for slightly cheaper than normal to save time for quests and killing.
There are some quests in ascalon that reward money as well as XP.
Once you get to the desert, carry keys. Sometimes you can get a nice max gold item from a chest, and even if it's not max or gold, you can get a nice mod and expert salvage.

Just remember to always use expert salvage kits and not regular ones. (and do not salvage things like mergoyle skulls or orr emblems or mantle emblems, just merchant those, or you will always end up with common materials that no one even uses like bone and scale)

Using expert kits instead provide you with the chance of salvaging out rare craft materials such as steel which can sell for over 100g a piece, along with a high amount of useful crafting materials such as iron and tanned hides which can go towards crafting your armor, further saving your money.

I went a little overboard with that but hopefully someone sees this and finds some of it useful.

I have also noticed recently more spamming of the hacker web sites in local chat. I turned one in to ANet the other day. Hope it worked.
