Like Frog Devourer so aptly stated, I am a noob, a crappy, unskilled farmer.

Truthfully, I only started farming a week ago and I've had this game since last May. Augury griffons are the perfect beginning area for a noob such as myself. Considering that I would go out there maybe once per day, for 20 minutes before I have to leave for work, for some mere pocket change, I would have to say I'm pretty disappointed that that option is no longer there for me.

That said, if it decreases commercial farming, ok, I'll get over it. Just makes it more difficult for casual farmers like me.

So they put a few scarab's in there huh, no problem, a warrior should still be able to
handle this, just have to run and heal more, if you go out of Thirsty river to farm griffons over the tele-porter, you will already know how to deal with them!!!!!!!!!

I just wish they would fix the bot-farming situation, is this possible??
I would completely remove any account that bot-farmed even one time, that is
pure cheating no other answer, and if it is being used to make real money by selling
gold, which I see at several of the major GW websites, then seems like it is kind of
accepted in a way.

Fantastic - you advocate us being forced into groups. All the fun of random groups - just brilliant. If you want money you're forced to endure all the junk that comes. Fine, have areas with unique rewards (ie. SF and ToPK) that force you into groups, but nerfing major solo areas seems dumb to me. If Anet wanted to shutdown bots then there are better ways to do it.

Not saying it cannot be done; of course it can, and I did last night, but it took a lot longer than I usually have during the day to farm. I may find another convenient place to make a few bucks once a day, we'll see.

(However, my persecution complex dictates that it is only because I started farming that they made this particular area more time-consuming!)

Hmm... slight problem with that. The scarabs kill ALL but 3-4 griffs so theres no more to farm.I think the addition of scabs is funny myself.Sure one of my crop fields has been ruined, but there are still many places to solo.

ANd this griff field was not a place for Nubs/unskilled/ignorant farmers, it was a good place to rotate one's crops.

Not good, thx for the info, wonder if they made any new areas we now need to find??
I know of three other griff spots just not as easy to get to, I wonder about them to.

My farming days are far from over. Just lost 1 spot. I guess Ill have to find a successful way to kill scarabs. Farming is really the only guaranteed way to make money, besides running and chest running. I don't mind uw or fow groups if they know what they are doing, but thats usually not the case. If you prefer to play a specific character class, then your choices are often limited. Most uw or fow groups are looking for a specific class build, and you either have to adapt to the demand of others or just don't get in a group. This applies to ORO Farming and the New UW also. The beauty of solo farming is that you get to play the game on your own term and get 8 times the drops in the process in way of gold or items. It's been said over and over again, but the only way to promote teamwork is to give people an incentive to team up with others. Increasing gold drops and the quality of item drops in larger groups would definately help. I still don't understand why A-net doesn't do this? On another note, I love the buffs to the warrior, my farming warrior kicks ass!

Oh I wouldn't say griffon farming is nerfed...I tried it last night and from the four griffons I killed, dropped four black dyes. Anet obviously missed something, made 30k from killing four griffons. And this was with the scarabs

On the issue of farming...

I think it is more sad that the end-game content is dwindle down to who can farm the best...

Maybe Anet's final goal is to make the warrior the best class in the game? They might be W/Mo junkies with no skills and no imagination? Therefore they nerf every faming spot except for the warriors, then buff them to make sure that noobs can do it?

Heh, only a stupid suggestion, but hey, who knows...

Horrible loot. Great experience. I've gotten one rare from them. Ever. But like I said, awesome for experience. That's why my war is unlocking many of the skills for that particular account.

Same here. Prior to that I was using a 55 Mo to get skill points from Hydras. Once I discovered the troll cave (overlooked because of the crap drops) I gave desert farming up almost completely.

Troll Cave + Slayers Insight = 3 SP/Hour.

Admittedly, it isn't bad for gold though. I usually get 1-1.5k per run. Good for finding iron and wood too.
